ARCHIVING AND DIGITAL PRESERVATION

The full texts of all issues and articles published in the Journal of Business Research–Turk since 2009 are available through the Journal’s electronic archive. Bibliographic information relating to articles, including titles, authors, abstracts, keywords, publication dates, volumes, issues, page ranges, references, and DOIs, is maintained in the OJS publishing system.

Regular server backups are performed for the Journal’s OJS database, article full texts, supplementary files, issue files, covers, article metadata, and system configuration. These backups are intended to enable the restoration of the Journal’s content and ensure the continuity of its publishing activities in the event of a technical failure, data loss, cybersecurity incident, or other exceptional circumstances. Access to backups is restricted to authorized technical personnel.

The assignment of DOIs to articles published in the Journal supports the persistent identification of scholarly content and redirection to the current access location if a web address changes. However, a DOI does not, by itself, constitute a full-text archiving or long-term digital preservation system. Similarly, although regular server backups provide operational data security and enable content restoration, they do not fully replace an independent and distributed long-term digital preservation system.

The Journal’s participation in an independent and distributed long-term digital preservation system, such as the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), LOCKSS, or CLOCKSS, has not yet been completed. Accordingly, the Journal does not currently claim that its content is archived by these systems or that the content will be made accessible through them if the Journal ceases publication.

To ensure the long-term preservation of its published scholarly content in an independent and distributed environment, the Journal plans to undertake the technical work required to participate in the PKP Preservation Network. As part of this process, the compatibility of the OJS version in use will be assessed, the PKP PN plugin will be enabled, and the successful transfer of back issues and newly published content to the preservation network will be verified. Once participation has been completed, the name and scope of the digital preservation system, the date on which preservation commenced, and, where possible, a verification link will be published on this page.

If the Journal of Business Research–Turk ceases publication for any reason, the Journal aims to maintain access to published content for as long as possible, keep DOI records up to date, and transfer its electronic archive to a reliable institutional or distributed digital preservation system.

This policy will be updated if changes are made to the Journal’s digital preservation infrastructure, a new backup method is implemented, or the Journal participates in an independent archiving and preservation system.
