Abstract

Purpose – Procurement is a factor that accommodates many variables such as quality, performance and cost of enterprises and provides strategic competitive advantage. Making the right decision for both production and service sectors has a significant contribution in terms of process efficiency. Because the first step of the supply chain is the correct selection of suppliers and contributing to the achievement of the objectives of the enterprise within the framework of sustainable relations. Businesses must concentrate on their capabilities and work with experts who are willing to receive the remaining support. Therefore, they prefer outsourcing to achieve this. At this point, the problem of supplier selection is a difficult multi-criteria decision making process and an effective method should be chosen. The aim of this study is to determine which criteria are taken into consideration in the selection of suppliers based on various factors that cause enterprises to purchase some products or services from outside instead of producing them and To support the decision-making process among alternatives by using multi-criteria decision making methods to help decision makers about supplier selection. Design/methodology/approach – Within the scope of the study, the supplier selection problem of an enterprise is handled with Entropy and Topsis (Ideal Solution Sorting Method) methods and the priority orders of alternative suppliers are calculated with these methods. Based on the literature survey and expert opinions, 8 criteria and 6 supplier companies used in the selection of suppliers were determined. . Findings – As a result of this study, priorities were determined for alternative suppliers and thus the decision making process was analyzed in detail. According to the findings of the study, the priority of the supplier is for the implant service requirements of the clinic. The kitchen supplier should be preferred and the supplier of consumables, which are complementary to these services, should be preferred in the third rank. Discussion – The study has been applied in a dental clinic in the health sector and evaluation can be made on different criteria in other sectors. Different variables can be added at the point of determining the criteria and the study can be repeated with different methods.
