Abstract

This study is to identify the current state of health tourism in Turkey, to assess the developments, and to advise on strategic studies future developments in the assessment and aims to advice on strategic studies to be done in the future. An annual picture of Turkey in terms of health tourism is put forward by analyzing data (public-private rate, the separation of health tourists, health-tourists, the service industry, country of origin, etc.) for 2011 collected offial channels from Provincial Health Directorates of the Ministry of Health (about public and private hospitals). Furthermore, strategic assessments and recommendations on the need for the future regarding medical tourism in Turkey are made in the light of developments in the World and Turkey.
