Purpose – The purpose of this research is twofold: first identify the dimensions of training quality and to develop reliable and valid measurement instrument; second test a model that links training quality with personal benefits and job related benefits. Design/methodology/approach – Research model representing causal relationships between training quality and benefits of training is developed on the basis of a literature review. Participants from the non-governmental organization located in Ankara received e-mail invitations and a total of 178 participants completed the online survey. After conducting exploratory factor analysis, Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) is employed in order to test the validity of the measurement models and examine the extensive set of relationships between the construct variables. Findings – The result of SEM showed that tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and entertainment were significant dimensions leading to training quality. Findings also indicated that training quality had direct effect on personal benefits. However, this study also found that training quality had no direct effect on job related benefits. Discussion – It was observed that most of the data obtained as a result of the research supported the relevant literature research. The study also contributes to the literature because of the limited research done regarding of training quality in Turkey.
