A Research on the Effects of Strategic Management Practices in Universities on Organizational Creativity

Purpose - The aim of this article is to investigate the effects of strategic management practices in universities on organizational creativity. In this context, the problem statements of the study can be expressed as; do strategic management practices in universities affect organizational creativity and do demographic variables have a moderating effect on the relationship between strategic management practices and organizational creativity. Design/methodology/approach – This study is a relational survey model research in quantitative method. The data of the study were collected with "Strategic Management Scale" and "Organizational Creativity Scale". Participants were determined by simple random sampling. Reliability analysis, frequency analysis, annova analysis and regression analyses were performed by applying SPSS 21 statistical software. Findings - As a result of regression analysis, it was found that good communication with the environment positively affected the participants' perception level of organizational creativity in individual and social dimensions. In addition, as a result of the "One-Way Analysis of Variance", it was determined that "Resource Use Efficiency," "Cooperation with the Environment," "Perception Level of Organizational Creativity in Individual Dimension," "Perception Level of Organizational Creativity in Managerial Dimension" and "Perception Level of Organizational Creativity in Social Dimension" differed according to the working time of the participants.. Discussion - Strategic management practices are important in terms of monitoring, learning, implementing new developments, implementing innovations, taking precautions against the ever-increasing competitive environment and sustaining the existence of enterprises in the global competitive environment. It can be argued that it is important to include issues related to the benefits that strategic management and creativity can provide to enterprises in scientific studies to be conducted at universities within the framework of university-industry cooperation.
