Ranking of the Logistics Risk Factors and Risk Management Tools via Integrated AHP-VIKOR Approach: A Case Study of Samsun Province

Abstract

The aim of this study is to identify the logistic risk factors in companies which are carrying out cold chain transportation in Samsun province where logistics work and transactions are performed intensively and to perform the sorting of the tools used in logistic risk management. In this regard, an evaluation has been carried out via integrated AHP-VIKOR approach and 25 experts opinions have been received from companies that carry out cold chain transportation, academicians, and logistics service providers. According to the AHP results in the first stage, the most important logistic risk elements has been the “Packaging Risks” and this criterion followed by “Transportation Risks”, “Organizational Risks”, “Purchasing Risks” and “Inventory Risks”, respectively. In the second stage, the tools used in logistics risk management have been ranked by VIKOR method. Accordingly, the most ideal tool has been determined as “Statistical Process Control”.
