Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to determine the extent to which school principals 'leadership behavior styles affect teachers' organizational commitment. The data of the study were obtained from 17 state schools, 12 primary schools and 5 secondary schools in Karabağlar province of İzmir. As a result of the research, it has been obtained that the adaptation and internalization sub-dimensions, which are sub-dimensions of organizational commitment, have an effect on transformational leadership dimension from leadership styles sub-dimensions. The identification sub-dimension was found to have an effect on the transformational, sustaining and laissez-faire leadership sub-dimensions. There is no significant relationship between the demographic characteristics of teachers and organizational commitment and leadership styles.
