Abstract

Purpose – The main objective of this study is to examine intermediary role of organizational trust on the effect of organizational support that they have provided on organizational commitment. For this purpose, current study contributes to the field of organizational support, organizational commitment by considering these variables and by including organizational trust as intermediary variable. Design/methodology/approach – In this study, the data have been collected from 250 workers employed in the hotels of Erzurum Tourism Provincial Directorate and the data has been subjected to analysis with structural equation modeling. In the research model, the perception of organizational support was used as an external variable while organizational commitment and organizational trust were used as internal variables. Organizational trust was added to the model as a mediator variable. In analyzing the data, the level of significance was accepted as p=0.05. Findings – It have been observed that organizational support have positive effect on organizational commitment. It has been determined that the perception of organizational trust played a full intermediary role on the interaction between organizational support and commitment. Discussion – If organization managers provide support for their employees while at the same time organizational trust, the perceptions of employees on organizational commitment will be higher.
