ABOUT THE JOURNAL

Journal Profile

The Journal of Business Research–Turk is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal that publishes original, high-quality scholarly research across various fields of business and management sciences.

Launched in June 2009, the Journal aims to contribute to the advancement of theoretical knowledge in business and management sciences, examine contemporary management and business problems through scientific methods, and disseminate original research articles that discuss the practical implications of research findings.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process by at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant research field. Decisions to accept or reject manuscripts are based solely on scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and alignment with the Journal’s aims and scope.

AIMS

The Journal of Business Research–Turk aims to publish original research that contributes to the development of theoretical, methodological, and practice-oriented knowledge in the fields of business and management sciences.

The Journal gives priority to studies that have a strong theoretical foundation, a clearly defined research problem, a scientifically justified research design, appropriate and rigorous methods, and a significant contribution to the relevant literature. Studies are expected not only to present their findings but also to explain the theoretical, methodological, and managerial implications of the results.

The principal aims of the Journal are to:

  • Publish original research that examines contemporary problems in business and management sciences using scientific methods.
    • Contribute to the advancement of theoretical knowledge in business and management.
    • Support research that comparatively examines national and international business practices.
    • Help establish a scientifically grounded link between theory and practice.
    • Strengthen the exchange of academic knowledge among researchers from different countries.
    • Promote methodologically rigorous, transparent, and reproducible research.
    • Enhance the contribution of business research to understanding and addressing social, economic, ethical, and environmental challenges.
    • Support the principles of research and publication ethics, editorial independence, and the integrity of the scholarly record.

SCOPE

The Journal of Business Research–Turk considers original research articles whose research problem, theoretical framework, and contribution are directly related to business or management sciences.

Merely making a superficial reference to a business context is not sufficient for a manuscript to fall within the Journal’s scope. The research question, theoretical foundation, methodology, findings, and claimed contribution of the study must be explicitly linked to the literature in business or management sciences.

ARTICLE TYPE PUBLISHED

The Journal of Business Research–Turk considers only original research articles.

An original research article is a study that investigates a clearly defined research problem or research question through scientific methods, includes original data and/or original analysis, and makes a theoretical, methodological, or practical contribution to the field of business or management sciences.

Research articles may employ quantitative, qualitative, or mixed research methods. Merely designating a study as a research article is not sufficient for it to be considered for evaluation. The study must be based on an original research design, employ scientific research methods, and make a clear contribution consistent with the Journal’s aims and scope.

TYPES OF SUBMISSIONS NOT CONSIDERED

The following types of submissions are not considered for evaluation:

  • Theoretical or conceptual articles
    • Traditional or narrative reviews
    • Systematic reviews
    • Meta-analyses
    • Bibliometric studies
    • Methodological articles that merely introduce a method or analytical technique
    • Book reviews
    • Letters to the editor
    • Case presentations and case reports
    • Conference abstracts

    • Redundant or duplicate publications
    • Research requiring ethics committee approval or informed consent for which the necessary approvals and consent documentation cannot be provided
    • Studies involving plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, improper authorship, or other serious ethical violations

Articles derived from a thesis, project, report, or conference paper are not automatically considered outside the Journal’s scope. However, such studies must have been substantially developed beyond the previous work, prepared as an original research article, clearly disclose the original source, and include all necessary citations.
