Abstract

Purpose – This research was carried out to determine to what extent the emotional intelligence of the staff working in tourism sector affects their career adaptation. In addition, the effect of career adaptations on life satisfaction was also examined within the scope of the research. Design/methodology/approach – Depending on the purpose of the research, the data were collected from the personnel working in tourism businesses in the Cappadocia region using the survey technique. The data obtained from the research were analyzed using the AMOS program. Findings – According to the results of the research, it has been determined that the emotional intelligence of tourism workers positively affects their career adaptation. What’s more, the career adaptations of employees increase their life satisfaction. Discussion – Based on the results obtained from the study, suggestions have been developed for sector representatives and academicians who are working in the literature.
