Abstract

Purpose - This study aimed to determine the effect of organizational support perceptions of employees working in hotel businesses on employee voice behaviors. Desing/methodology/approach – For this purpose, primary data were obtained by applying a questionnaire form to the employees working in hotel enterprises with tourism business certificate operating in Manavgat district of Antalya. In the research, convenience sampling method, one of the non-probability based sampling methods, was used and the hypotheses related to the research model created as a result of the literature review were tested with the help of appropriate quantitative analysis techniques and the findings obtained were evaluated. Within the scope of the research, the level of relationship between organizational support perception levels and employee voice behaviors of the employees participating in the research was investigated by correlation analysis and regression analysis. Findings - According to the findings obtained from the research, it was determined that there was a highly significant relationship and interaction between the organizational support perception levels and employee voice behavior of employees working in hotel businesses. Discussion – The results obtained reveal that the organizational support perceptions of the employees affect the formation of a vocal environment within the organization. Therefore, the level of support provided by managers to their employees contributes to the transformation of employees into more vocal and active individuals in the organizations they work in. Employees can express their thoughts and suggestions more easily in the workplace thanks to the support provided by their managers and colleagues. Organizational support makes employees feel more connected to the organization and actively participate in business processes and exhibit more vocal behavior. For this reason, managers should effectively implement strategies that support their employees in order to provide a participatory and polyphonic working environment.
