Abstract

In today’s business life, due to globalization, factors such as continuous technological change and developments and increasing level of population cause considerable changes in labor market. Individuals who think they are overqualified than their job requirements, either accept to work for a job which is in lower level than their work experience and skills because the fear of being unemployed and financial and family oriented reasons or get unemployed. Thus, while turnover intention increases, organizational commitment lowers. But it is obvious that there are limited researches in this field in Turkey. In this concept by a comprehensive literature review of perceived overqualification, it is aimed to investigate the concept, types, individual and organizational outcomes and the employment situation in Turkey.
