Influence the Impact of Employee Presenteism Behavior on Work Alienation: An Example of a Public Institution

Abstract

The main aim of this study is to examine how the presenteeism (işte söz de var olma) of academic and administrative staff working at a public institution, T.C. Iğdır University, affects their work alienation. First of all, presenteeism and work alienation with sub-dimensions of work alienation have been studied theoretically. The questionnaire study was conducted on 245 people working in T.C. Igdir University in 2017 and it was determined that when the employees showed presenteizm behaviors, the work alienation and its sub-dimensions positively affected weakening, meaninglessness and self-esteem.
