Abstract

Purpose- Purpose- In this study, the concept of InsurTech was introduced, the use of InsurTech in Turkey and the World was compared, and the current data of InsurTech use was examined. Design/methodology/approach – In this study, the insurance companies included in the InsurTech structuring; The relationship between InsurTech investments, the digitalization of insurance and InsurTech has been examined in the light of international insurance data, according to the comparative analysis technique. Investments by insurance companies in the InsurTech structuring and digitalization are the focus of the analysis. Findings –InsurTech is a very important factor in digitalization in the insurance industry and provides advantages in terms of reducing the costs of insurance companies, accurate pricing and risk management. For insurance customers, InsurTech allows quick quotes from many insurance companies and purchasing policies without the need to go to the office environment. European countries attach importance to InsurTech investments and investments tend to increase. However, although the use of InsurTech has started to increase in Turkey, the investments have not reached the desired level. Discussion –The results of the study were obtained by examining the domestic and foreign literature, domestic and international insurance sector media data in the field of insurance. The emergence and current situation of InsurTech, which is aimed to develop and grow in the future, is explained by valuation method.
