Abstract

Purpose – To adapt the wise leadership scale developed by Ding et al. (2019) into Turkish is one of this research’s aims. The other aims are reveal the psychometric properties of the scale and to prove that the scale is valid and reliable. Design/methodology/approach – In accordance with the purpose of scale adaptation, a questionnaire was preferred as a data collection tool. The universe is the chemical businesses in the Kayseri Organized Industrial Zone. The sample consists of 199 employees. SPSS and AMOS program were used for analysis. Findings – Exploratory (EFA), confirmatory (CFA) factor and internal consistency analyzes were applied for the suitability of the scale factor structure. The total variance rate explained by the scale is 71.549%. According to the EFA, the item factor load range is .80-.87. CFA findings goodness of fit values, χ2/df=1.76; RMSEA=.06; SRMR=.02; CFI=.99; IFI=.99; GFI=.97 and internal consistency coefficients α=.92; CR>.93; AVE>.65. The specified values are at an acceptable level. Discussion – As a result of the analysis, the compatibility of the “Phronetic (Wise) Leadership Scale” with the Turkish culture was proven with its psychometric properties.
