Abstract

Purpose- The aim of this study is to determine the mediating role of organizational identification and job satisfaction in the effect of employees' organizational ethical climate perceptions on employee motivation. Determining the effects of employees' organizational ethical climate, job satisfaction and organizational identification levels on their motivation levels and determining how the related variables affect employee motivation are among the aims of the research. Design/methodology/approach- In this study, in which the relational screening model was used to determine the interactions between the variables, SPSS and AMOS programs were used to analyze the data obtained from 575 employees working in public institutions. Structural Equation Model was preferred in the analysis of the relationships between the variables and in testing whether there is a mediating variable effect. Findings- As a result of the research, there is a relationship between individuals' organizational ethical climate perceptions and their motivation levels; It has been determined that a positive organizational ethical climate perception has a positive effect on employee motivation. In addition, it has been determined that ethical climate predicts job satisfaction, organizational identification predicts employee motivation, and similarly, job satisfaction predicts employee motivation, and organizational identification and job satisfaction have a partial mediation effect in the effect of organizational ethical climate on employee motivation. Discussion- Obtained in this study; The findings that ethical climate positively and significantly affect employee motivation, organizational commitment, job satisfaction and employee performance support the relevant literature. In this direction, it is evaluated that in a positive ethical climate, the motivation of the employees will increase and eventually it will have positive effects on the level of job satisfaction and organizational identification.
