Determining the Mediating Effect of Intention to Adopt Mobile Health Applications Between Mobile Application Features and Health Seeking Behavior

Purpose – The aim of the study is to determine the mediating effect of intention to adopt mobile health applications on the effect of some features of mobile health applications such as informativeness, perceived mobility and personalization on health seeking behavior.
Design/methodology/approach – Quantitative research method was used in the study and survey technique was adopted. The research was conducted with 477 people over the age of 18 residing in Altındağ, Çankaya, Etimesgut, Gölbaşı, Keçiören, Mamak, Pursaklar, Sincan and Yenimahalle districts of Ankara province. In the analysis of the data, construct reliability and validity test, confirmatory factor analysis, frequency distribution analysis and regression analysis were applied.
Findings – As a result of the analysis, it was determined that adoption intention has a strong direct and indirect effect on the effect of mobile health application features on health seeking behavior.
Discussion – Mobile health apps have been found to provide an easy and convenient way for users to access health information and services. Identifying the factors affecting users' adoption and use of mobile health applications will help to improve users' actual usage behaviors. Although some of the data obtained as a result of the research are similar to the results of previous studies on the subject, different results that will contribute to the literature have been reached due to the different target group of the research.
