Abstract

Purpose – The aim of this study is to define the attitude towards digital technology, the interaction between internal entrepreneurship and individual performance variables. Design/methodology/approach – The research was carried out on 450 people working in a company operating in the industrial kitchen equipment sector in Istanbul province with easy sampling method between July and December of 2019. The data obtained from the questionnaire were subjected to scale validity and reliability and confirmatory factor analysis in SPSS 22 program. Simple and multiple regression analysis was performed as a research method. Findings – According to the results of the research, the attitudes of the employees towards digital technology partially affect individual job performance, task performance, contextual performance, internal entrepreneurship, innovation and organizational renewal and proactivity. Technology usage, attitude towards technology and usage dimensions of technology, competence and entertainment for me positively affect individual performance. Technology usage, attitude towards technology and technology and conscious usage dimensions affect negatively, negative aspects and entertainment use negatively. Technology use, interest in technology and technology, competence, conscious use affects positively and entertainment use negatively. Competence, social networks affect internal entrepreneurship positively, entertainment use negatively. The use of technology in the institution, the interest in technology and technology for me, the use of social networks positively for entertainment purposes affect negatively the innovation and organizational renewal. Competence, social networks affect proactivity positively, negative aspects and recreational use negatively. Discussion – In this study, it has been determined that the attitude of employees towards digital technology affects individual business performance in contextual sub-dimension and also all the other sub-dimensions are analysed and discussed. In the context of the results and suggestions, the study also includes comments and suggestions about the place and increasing importance of digitalization and entrepreneurship today and its future location, and it is thought that the study will contribute to both the literature and the sector.
